Granimator™ brings together cutting edge artists, designers, illustrators, and studios from around the world. Giving users the opportunity to create design focused wallpapers on the iPad that can be shared via handsets or through social networking media: Twitter, Facebook and Flickr…
Seven of the freshest design and illustration talents from the Nordic region have contributed a pack to the latest Granimator™ collection. ustwo™ has handpicked some of the most exciting design talent coming out of the region and showcased it to the rest of the world.
From Stina Persson’s ethereal jungle scenes to Diftype’s stark graphic formations, each artist’s pack follows a very different style and mood. All the artists, however, draw from a traditional, hand crafted style and root the collection in the very essence of Nordic design where the traditional meets the modern. The Nordic Collection artists are: Clara Terne, Karin Rönmark, Martin Nicolausson, Stina Persson, Tyra von Zweigberg, Niklas Lundberg aka Difftype and Kristina Gordon aka YapYap.
Marcus Woxneryd, director of ustwo™ Malmö, says ‘We’re massively proud to bring together such an exceptional group of designers and artists for the Nordic Granimator™ collection. Sweden and the wider region is a hub for design and tech, and a great exporter of talent on a global level. We wanted to contribute to this by giving new audiences a way to experience this talent on a fresh and exciting platform’.
Hand picked from the 2011 graduate collections of Brighton and Central Saint Martins, these five talented newcomers have each contributed a Granimator™ pack. From Pete Gamlen's Jazz Age Cacophony to Sam Dunn's eerie Under the Forest pack, the collection contains something unique for every user to get granimating with.
It started with realisation; today’s content is all about an idea, not the media it is carried on. From this jelly was born, revolutionising the way that we work within the industry as a media-neutral production company. Putting emphasis on using creators who are talented across all areas, we set out to find the right people to welcome into the jelly family.
5 years later and now representing world-renowned creatives in the field of motion and illustration from across the globe, jelly’s unique thought process allows us to bridge the gap between design/illustration through to 2d/3d animation, stop frame, mixed media and live action projects.
We have chosen five of our talented artists to represent us in the jelly Granimator™ Collection. We were looking for new and fun ways to approach creating content for the application, bringing our own little bit of jelly into the fantastic world of amazing artists brought together by the team at ustwo™.

"We are selecting artists from Hong Kong to New York, from Tokyo to Paris — not with the intention to make the job of ustwo more difficult, but with the intention to bring the flavours of an international mix. We trust the result will be an exciting contrast of themes, topics and moods" — IdN
Curated by MW Company, this collection introduces a group of upcoming and cutting edge Chinese artists and designers representing a unique progress and growth of the art and design scene in China.
"There is a strong creative energy emerging in China and young creators are really embracing their roots and heritage, creating some of the freshest works around. I see this collaboration with Granimator as a great opportunity to shine a light on this creative movement in China, introducing and connecting these young talents to the world. Two emerging artists from Europe, Jules Julien and Kustaa Saksi, have recently joined the collection of Chinese artists, adding a good dose of sophisticated strangeness and wonder to this collection."

“Seeing as ustwo is doing such a great job of contacting and collaborating with established designers and visual artists, for the Creative Review Granimator pack collection we thought it would be great to select and approach some image makers whose names are perhaps not so well known, but whose work we really admire. We were delighted when the artists we approached said yes – and we’re super excited to get creative with the resulting Granimator packs they’ve each created and developed with ustwo.” Gavin Lucas, Creative Review
